Liquidity

Intermediate

Liquidity describes how tradable a security is. If trading volume is high and the spread (difference between bid and ask) small, the stock is liquid — you can get in or out at a fair price immediately. For small caps or exotic ETFs, liquidity is often low. Large orders can move the price.
