Diversification

Beginner

Diversification is the 'don't put all eggs in one basket' principle. Instead of betting on one stock, you spread capital across many — ideally across different sectors, countries and asset classes. Effect: a single failure (scandal, bankruptcy, sector crisis) hits the total portfolio only in a limited way. ETFs are an easy way to reach broad diversification with a single position.
