Total debt

Beginner

Total debt is the sum of all interest-bearing debt — short-term (due within a year) and long-term (bonds, loans). The absolute number alone says little. It becomes meaningful only in relation: debt/equity, debt/EBITDA or debt/FCF show whether the debt load is comfortable or problematic.
