Day Trading

Positions are closed within the same day.

Very short-termVery activeProfessionelle Intraday-Trader

Core idea

Day traders open and close positions within the same trading day — often many times. The goal is to profit from small price moves and volatility. Nothing is held overnight. Day trading is professionally demanding and, for most retail traders, has been shown to lose money over time.

How it works

Intraday setups are traded based on charts, order book and news — usually with tight risk management and sometimes leverage. It requires fast reactions and full attention during market hours.

Pros

  • No overnight risk
  • Frequent trading opportunities

Cons

  • Very high time, knowledge and stress requirement
  • High costs from many trades
  • Statistically most retail traders lose money
